How to create an invoice
An invoice is a document you send to a client to request payment for goods or services. With Banana Invoice you can create one in about two minutes:
- Add your details. Enter your business name, address and, if you are registered, your tax ID. Add your client’s details under “Bill To”.
- Add items, tax and discounts. List each product or service with a quantity and unit price. Choose your currency, then add tax, a discount or shipping if needed.
- Choose a language and template. Pick the language your client reads and a template that suits your business. Your data stays the same when you switch.
- Print or save as PDF. Click “Print / PDF” and choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialog to download the invoice, or print it directly.
What should an invoice include?
Requirements differ by country, but most invoices contain the details below. If you are registered for VAT, GST or sales tax, check your tax authority’s rules as well.

Do I need to sign up to create an invoice?
No. You can create and download invoices as a guest, and your invoice stays in your browser. Create a free account only if you want to save invoices and track payments.
How do I download my invoice as a PDF?
Click “Print / PDF”, then choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. The PDF uses the language, template and currency you selected.
Can I create an invoice in another language?
Yes. Choose the invoice language in the settings and all invoice labels, dates and number formats change to that language, including right-to-left Arabic and Urdu. Your invoice data is kept when you switch.
Which currencies and taxes are supported?
You can bill in more than 30 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, PKR, AED, AUD and JPY. Country presets set the local tax term, such as VAT, GST or Sales Tax. Tax rates are never applied automatically — you enter the rate that applies to you.
Is an invoice made with a free generator legally valid?
Validity depends on what the invoice contains, not on the tool used to make it. In most countries an invoice should show a unique number, the date, both parties’ details, what was supplied, the amount due and, if you are registered for tax, the tax details your tax authority requires.
